All very well but like i said before, even if it only half works and generates a constant stream of energy from a self contained unit started only by say, solar power or small battery charge, then its going to be the answer to carbon emissions at the very least and look at all those poor sods in britain who have no power because of the floods crisis…hmmm, portable orbo generators?

I guess there’s no doubt that you have to give the system an initial amount of energy, they’re not claiming its “Free” in the sense that it can start out of nothing, what they claim, if I understand correctly, is that the system OUTPUTS more energy than what it’s inputted, constantly.

I can’t imagine all the possibilities and how the world would change if they did this, and licensed it to everyone, now just to the big cartels of energy.

I’d cell all my stock in battery companies (if I had any)

Laptops running endlessly, no more charging phones, no more stoppping for gas, no more electricity bills (if you could run an orbos generator and plug it to your house grid), since they said that it could scale up to any size.

Costs of everything would go down, and also a lot of energy derived businesses would go down. The energy companies would have to adopt Orbos derived technology and use it in their favor.

Ive been following Steorn since the first announcement in the economist, I too have a more positive outlook than some of the other more pessemistic bloggers out there. The idea seems great, but the haters out there are missing one fundamental issue here…. lets say that the law of thermodynamics is causing them to look like a bunch of fools….that may be the case but the flip side is this…ok, it may take something to get orbo up and running …but once it is, its then still going to be a source of clean energy albeit not as free as they first announced…even if this thing takes energy to get it moving, what about solar power to generate the initial spark thats required to get those magnets spinning?……surely 100% clean energy from machines that can be built as small as a desktop device and as large as a nuclear power plant, is a wonderful thing. constant, clean but maybe not free….hmmm, i can see that its still an amazing invention. Imagine orbo ( should it work ) replacing wind turbines or even linked to wind turbines and solar equipment?, the thing about clean energy at the moment is that we already have shedloads of things out there that do work….why the hell are we not replacing carbon based energy with the alternatives already out there?, why dont all these guys get together (orbo included) and work as one team, changing the world and making global warming a thing of the past?, off shore wind farms work!, solar power works!…if its too bloody expensive to save the human race, why has no-one addressed the fact that its the human race that invented the bloody stuff….money, its our creation and we let our lives depend on it and now we face extinction because of it…..grow the fxxxk up all of you….time to stand up and be counted and stop playing games…….when all the world leaders stand before god, and he asks them “why did you let this happen?”, what’s mr bush gonna say…..”We couldnt afford it?”, “that country owed me money?”, …what price huma life…. long live Steorn and any other innovator (real or not) that keeps the argument burning.
