Learning and living philosophy is REALLY important. Just as we evolve in every other knowledge field, we must evolve as philosophers. When some philosophers decided that reality had to be questioned (tested) we came up with the scientific method, which brought about more innovation in the last 200 years than in thousands before it. Just because we started questioning our reality differently than before (like shit was made by god and stuff, we learned stars where massive balls of hydrogen and helium collapsing into heavier elements which make up most of what you and I are made of.

What will the next breakthrough in philosophy bring to the aid of our creativity?

                          

I think the outlook of the future is not so good when we look at the eating habits of the average american person, which seems to be similar to other consumption habits in American society. We eat crap, we buy crap, we watch crap, we listen to crap, we waste time on stupid things, the top search trends on Google show that americans just care about gossip and vanal things.

If the future of this country depends on the majority of the people in it (and not in a brilliant few that drive innovation and cannibalize on the majority), I think american supremacy has its days numbered, not to mention that we’re going to keep spending a lot of money on healthcare thanks to our eating habits.

Let’s see what the story will be with Android 2.2 (Froyo)

                          

Grabbed the demo video that comes with the N900 to delight you and put it on the 3 phones.

The screen on the Nexus One is the most impressive.

The Droid has a 1/2 sec. lag when you try to jump to another part of the video.

If you don’t care about the screen being so vibrant N900 is just as good doing video playback comparing it with the Nexus One.

                          

It will be easy to tell by developers that it’s a lot better to sell on Android, eventually the Android userbase will be way bigger than that of the iPhone (iPad). You missed your boat on the Apple TV (for not taking that project seriously), Android on the TV might make it to our living rooms thus creating a huge gaming market. You’re doomed if you don’t change your ways, milk the AppStore while you can.

So if you raise the price of YOUR app, you get banned? or was it because Tommy told you the truth of how much your AppStore sucks?

NOTE: I’m a Mac user, I love Apple most of Apple products but I just have a huge beef with the iPhone OS, the iPad and the AppStore. It is what it is, I’m not a blind fanboy.

Internet TVs will be huge if/when they support (open) standard technologies for media delivery used in today’s web and mobile devices, e.g. HTML5/JavaScript, Flash, Android SDK. It seems Vizio has gone the Flash route.

Thanks to @gliendo I understand that there’s still room for live tv content (sports, news and some events that are delivered in HD via Cable/Satellite networks), however for the rest of the stuff that I consume the most: TV Shows, Movies, Concerts, Documentaries… all of that I see it when I have the time, I just can’t be in front of the TV when they want me to. If I want to see a show, I don’t need to wait a week to see the next episode and be there like if it was a date, my time is way to valuable for that, I’ll do it when I can, how I can, and the internet has allowed me so far to be free of cable TV for over 2 years now, but that’s me, the majority of people watches TV in the living room, and a TV like this will also free them from cable channels when they figure the possibilities.

Ads on Cable and we still have to pay for it?
If a TV like this has support for Netflix, Hulu, YouTube or other existing online Video delivery services where I can get my favorite movies on demand (in the case of netflix for a flat fee and I can stream all I want from their catalog) why the hell would I need to watch TV on cable channels and with so many ads? you almost feel stupid for paying the cable company after they make you watch so many ads, in the internet world usually if you pay for something you never expect an ad, with such a high CPM on TV ads, why the hell do we pay for cable????

Cable TV Channels are so dead for me, a TV like this gives me hope that they will eventually die for millions of people once they realize this, the more internet tvs that are out there, the sooner it’ll happen.

I learned the trick from a couple of other videos in youtube, however I thought they were badly shot and I decided to make my own version from the point of view of the person taking the bra off.

Wish I someone had taught me this trick years ago, thanks Internet for being such a great teacher.

                          

Notes to Joost developers: I had to resize the size of the embedded object, by default it was 640×360, but this is too wide for the standard blog, which usually has a 2 column layout.

It’d recommend 400×225 as the default size for most bloggers to copy and paste without further editing.

This should probably the standard embed code you should have for your users to embrace this:

I just got a new Apple Wireless Keyboad.

My laptop currently sits atop a Griffin Elevator, this keeps it cool and also helps keep my neck at a healthy angle, something I need given how many hours I spend on the computer.

The problem with the Elevator is that after a while, your arms get tired and you end up resting your arms over your elbows, causing you elbow dryness and sometimes pain.

To rest my elbows and have an ergonomic posture, I needed a keyboard that was small enough to fit on my tight desk.

The other reason I got it was that the MacBook keyboard is extremely worn out.

Getting used to the new keyboard
The function keyboard layout is a bit different from the one on the MacBook. It took me a couple hours getting used to the spacing between the keys, but now I’m fully used to it. The feeling of the keys going down is very addictive.

Since the keyboard is wireless, I’m planning on getting another one to put it in front of the TV. Once Boxee integrates Joost and Hulu perfectly into the system, getting an Apple TV or a cheap custom built computer as a media center will make a lot of sense.

I’ve been hooking up the laptop via HDMI to the TV, and it sucks every time an episode ends in Hulu, or when there are commercial breaks on the ABC.com HD player because you have to get up and click on continue, or select the next episode to watch (unless you have setup playlists previously).

A wireless mouse and keyboard solve that problem.

Useful for Internet TV
Another plus, it can work like a remote control, for your HDMI-TV/Laptop setup.

I can proudly say we’ve been Cable-TV free for over 10 months now (saving probably around $200), I “survive” on Netflix DVDs & Streaming (can’t wait for the Xbox Live upgrade), Joost and Hulu.

Given my past history of doing things 2-3 years before regular people, I can see a big future for the Internet TV/Video companies that survive this “crisis” (bullshit crisis really, go to Venezuela and see what a real crisis is), eventually the whole thing will be packed on little boxes and CableTV companies will be in trouble if they don’t jump on the I-watch-what-I-want-whenever-I-want-via-internet boat.

This Verizon FIOS commercial always cracks me up.

In regards to FIOS I wonder how much money they’ve wasted advertising it, it’s been over the commercials are in the air but the service is hardly available anywhere. It’s either that or the fact their website sucks and you always end up forced to make a phone call, and that’s when they loose me, I just want to order the whole thing online, why wait 30mins until somebody picks up.

It’s hard to run a big company I guess, too many people that don’t give a damn about your business always end up making it bad.

This is a ritual that’s been around for 500 years, the video was shot in Solapur, India.
The purpose seems to be having the babies grow strong. It seems to me more like a stress test, you either break or you make it.

I found this on the Bronx like area of Liberty City, it’s some kind of Latin character called Manny Escuela, it seems they’re recording some kind of Reggaeton Music Video during the game:

So far I’ve seen videos of other ethnic mafias, such as Italian (Jersey-like side), Russian, Albanian, Jamaican and Irish.

The similarities between Liberty City and New York are amazing, this is a picture of the main character flying over the city and looking at what in real life is Queens and northern brooklyn (where I live)
