How to get a Hulu Invite now (hurry while they fix it)

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Hulu is the new video on demand service that seems to want to compete against Hulu

Finally NBC and other media power houses realized they had to make it easy for people on the internet to get their content on demand for free, people were getting it anyway and they weren’t making any money, but this is not what this article is about, this article is about getting you to watch The Office and other cool shows, legally, right now.

How to activate your account without waiting

It seems Hulu has seen the first of many hacks, their developers seem to be not very detailed oriented, since its pretty stupid the way I got my account activated. This is how…

  • Sign up for a beta account
  • You’ll receive an email telling you that as soon as they’re ready they’ll activate your account
  • Go to the site again and click on Forgot your password
  • Enter the email you used to register
  • Check your email, you will have an email with your “Forgotten password” 😉
  • Login and activate your Hulu account

Wonder if this is just a stupid bug, or a way for them to advertise for free. I’m already advertising for them :)

FrostWire hits the CNET Top 20

Monday, October 29th, 2007

This feels like graduating or something similar. I can’t believe our grassroot effort after about a year of work has gone so far, far enough to make it to the Top 20 most popular software on

I guess I can only thank all the users and all the people that have helped spread the word, since this is probably like 95% the work of word of mouth. Thanks, we can only feel like releasing more and more FrostWire versions for you in the near future to see if we can get on the top 10 now.

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

After playing Guitar Hero so much lately, I’m getting back to playing my guitar and other than seeing videos like this, and actual guitar lessons on, I’m starting to consider taking Guitar Classes as soon as I have some time.

For now, I just enjoy clearing the Guitar Hero II crazy Xbox Live Achievements and watching videos like the following.

Joost beta goes open for everybody, no more invites.

Monday, October 1st, 2007

Last week P2P-TV company Joost quietly released a 1.0 version of its p2p-tv-client with a revamped interface (on which I could reproduce at least 3 or 4 bugs that I tried to report on their forums).

Joost Search Result UI from 1.0

Today October 1st, they seem to have removed the invite only downloads and you can just go ahead and download it here.

For those enthusiast Mac users that tried this beta last friday, it seems that this is actually a hot fixed version of their application, the installer released last friday would freeze when you tried to shutdown the client.

If you’re still having this problem, just download a new installer from their site and the problem should be gone, those developers were probably coding hard during the weekend.

Let’s see if they’re really to handle some real load, interesting day for Joost developers.

Gubatron is a software developer in New York City, currently lead developer of p2p open source project FrostWire, and partner at, during the day he works for a mysterious company called Temboo in Tribeca.
